The Regina Pats have acquired 19-year old Marek Schlenker from the Penticton Vees in exchange for a ninth-round pick in the 2027 WHL draft. The move adds depth at the goaltending position for the team. Schlenker, 19, had a 13-10-1 record in the 2024-25 season with Portland with a 3.70 goals against average and .893 save percentage in 30 games. The 5′10, 164 pound Okotoks native was selected by Penticton in this year’s WHL expansion draft. The Pats now have five goaltenders on their training camp roster including veterans Kelton Pyne and Ewan Huet and netminders Drake Mooney and Madden Mulawka. The Regina Pats open their regular season on Friday in Swift Current.
