Crews respond to several fires in Regina over past day

Regina fire crews were busy over the past day as they responded to several fires in the city.

On Thursday around 7:28 a.m., crews were called to a commercial fire on the 200 block of McDonald Street, according to a post on X from Regina Fire and Protective Services.

When crews arrived, they noticed significant smoke in the building and were able to extinguish the fire with minimal damage. There were no injuries reported and an inspector was called to determine the cause.

Later that day, crews were called to a house fire on the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue at 6:34 p.m. After making entry into the house, crews found a fire on the second floor, which they were able to get under control.

There were no injuries reported and the fire will be under investigation.

According to another post, around 8:11 p.m., crews responded to an apartment fire on the 800 block of Empress Street. The fire was found in a suite on the second floor and was contained to the room it started in.

There was significant damage to the suite and multiple people were displaced. There were no injuries reported, but the fire is under investigation.

Around 12:23 a.m. Friday, crews responded to a house fire on the 800 block of Elliot Street. The fire was found in the basement and crews were able to get the fire under control quickly. There were no injuries reported, but the inspector was on scene to investigate.
