What’s open and closed in Ottawa over Easter weekend

CTVNewsOttawa.ca looks at what’s open and closed across Ottawa over the Easter long weekend.

OC Transpo

On Good Friday, OC buses and O-Train Lines 1, 2 and 4 will run on a Sunday schedule.

On Monday, all buses and O-Train Line 1 will operate on a reduced weekday schedule. O-Train Lines 2 and 4 will run on a normal weekday schedule.

OC Transpo buses and the O-Train will run on a normal schedule on Saturday and Sunday.

For Para Transpo bookings, all regular bookings and recurring trips for Friday and Monday will be automatically cancelled.

Ottawa Client Service Centres

  • The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only.
  • ServiceOttawa Client Services and Provincial Offences counters will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
  • The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed
  • The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate will be closed
  • All Ottawa Employment and Social Services offices will be closed on Friday and Monday

Garbage and recycling

  • There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, garbage or bulky item collection on Friday or Monday. Friday’s pick up will take place on Saturday. Monday’s pick up will take place on Tuesday, April 22. All other collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
  • There will be no collections of multi-residential recycling containers, bulky items and green bins on Friday and Monday.
  • The Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be open on Friday and Monday

City of Ottawa services

  • All municipal child care centres will be closed Friday and Monday
  • All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed Friday and Monday
  • Many community centres and recreation facilities will have altered hours, closures and changes to drop-in schedule
  • City-operated museums, Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe, and Shenkman Arts Centre will be closed on Friday and Monday.

Malls

All malls, including the Rideau Centre and Tanger Outlets, will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

All malls will be open on Saturday and Monday.

Grocery stores

All grocery stores will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, including stores in ByWard Market and in the Glebe.

All grocery stores will be open on Saturday and Easter Monday.

LCBO/Beer Stores

All LCBO and Beer Store locations be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Locations will be open on Saturday.

Museums

Canada Post says there will be no mail delivery on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
