Strong wind gusts expected in Ottawa Friday evening

A windy late afternoon and early evening are expected in Ottawa.

A special weather statement calls for wind gusts of up to 80 km/h, with conditions easing Friday evening.

“A passing cold front is currently bringing strong wind gusts to the area. The winds are expected to ease this evening,” the statement says.

Rain is also expected on three of the next four days.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a cloudy sky with showers beginning early this evening then changing to a 40 per cent chance of showers overnight. Low 9.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected on Saturday. High 20 C.

Sunday will be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers. High 21 C.

The outlook for Monday calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of showers. High 23 C.

Tuesday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High 22 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 22 C and a low of 11 C.
