Redblacks unveil new white jersey ahead of ‘Whiteout the Stands’ game

The Redblacks are making a bold statement both on and off the field with their brand-new uniforms.

The Ottawa Redblacks will be wearing a new white jersey when they take on the Toronto Argonauts at TD Place on Saturday.

The Redblacks unveiled the new road white jersey on CTV Your Morning Ottawa Monday morning.

“This is all about connecting the history of Ottawa football; Roughriders, Redblacks, Renegades. The colours, the bold R,” Adrian Sciarra, president of the Ottawa Redblacks, told CTV Your Morning Ottawa.

“The striping, which is synonymous with Ottawa football, and then the big bold red numbers and the notch with the saw blade look.”

The white jersey features red and black stripes on the shoulders, the numbers and the word Ottawa in bold red, and a bold black R on the shoulder.

Sciarra says the jersey is very similar in terms of the look to the Redblacks black jersey, which was unveiled two years ago.

The RedBlacks host the “Whiteout the Stands” game on Saturday, asking fans to wear white for the game. There will also be white rally towels for fans.

Sciarra said, while the white jerseys will be the road jerseys this season, the club wanted to unveil the jerseys at home.

“What we wanted to do was make sure the unveiling of them for the first time on the field was at home for our fans,” Sciarra said.
