Ottawa police seized a replica BB gun from an O-Train passenger after responding to a call for a firearm on the light-rail transit system.

The Ottawa Police Service says it received a call just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, reporting someone riding on the LRT was in possession of a firearm.

“At Lees Station, officers located a young person with what turned out to be a replica BB gun,” police said in a statement to CTV News Ottawa. “It was seized by officers and the youth was released into the care of their parents.”

Photos sent to CTV News Ottawa showed several officers and OC Transpo special constables at Lees Station Tuesday morning.
