Riley Brockington is returning to Ottawa City Hall for a fourth term as councillor in River ward. The incumbent councillor was acclaimed the winner in the 2026 municipal election after no candidates registered to run in the ward. Brockington was first elected councillor in River ward in 2014 and won the 2022 election with 73 per cent of the vote. Residents in River ward will still be able to vote for mayor and school board trustee in the 2026 municipal election. River Ward River ward includes the Central Experimental Farm, Mooney’s Bay and neighbourhoods Carlington Park, Central Park, Carleton Heights, Hunt Club/Uplands and Riverside Park. Transit fares need to be stabilized with the focus of providing consistently reliable service. Would you support increasing the police budget? Increasing taxes is not my first option however, a levy will need to be debated. Road and sidewalk renewal Greenspace preservation, especially the NCC owned McCarthy corridor Completion of the expansion and renovation of the Alexander Community Centre Opening of River Ward’s first ever library branch and to expand programming and services from the OPL in the ward. Reopen a redesigned Mooney’s Bay Hill for winter activities. Keep taxes at a reasonable level to offer core City services. Improve community safety, expand traffic calming and curb the speeding epidemic.
