Long lines for a free sandwich at Chick-fil-A in Ottawa

Diners lined up for a free chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday.

The U.S.-based fast-food chain is offering guests a complimentary Original Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich or spicy chicken sandwich at all locations in Ottawa and across Ontario.

Chick-fil-A says the free Chick-fil-A giveaway is to “express our gratitude for allowing us to be a part of your community.”

There was a long line at the Rideau Centre Chick-fil-A just before 12 p.m., as diners lined up for a free sandwich.

There is also a Chick-fil-A at Tanger Outlets in Ottawa’s west end.

There is no purchase necessary. The free Chick-fil-A giveaway runs until 8 p.m.
