Two charged with firing guns outside Elliot Lake apartment building

Two Elliot Lake teens have been arrested after OPP received reports gunshots at apartment complex on Willoughby Road. The two 18-year-olds have been charged.

Two 18-year-old suspects have been charged in Elliot Lake after police received reports of shots being fired at an apartment complex.

Ontario Provincial Police responded around 4:45 a.m. on April 16 to the scene on Willoughby Road in Elliot Lake.

“Numerous residents reported hearing gunshots fired outside the building,” the OPP said in a news release April 17.

Secured the scene

“Police arrived immediately to secure the scene and ensure public safety. In doing so, two people were arrested outside.”

Both 18-year-old suspects, a man and a woman, are charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner and one count of careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

Both suspects are due in bail court Friday in the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River.
