Ontario Forest Fires reports one new wildland fire in the northeast

There was one new wildland fire confirmed in the northeast region by Ontario Forest Fires July 2.

• Timmins 16 is estimated at three hectares located east of Highway 144 and south of Highway 560, near Threecorner Lake. Aerial fire suppression teams two crews responded, Ontario Forest Fires said in a news release July 2.

There are currently 22 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region.

3 are not under control, 1 is being held, 1 is under control and 17 are being observed.
