North Bay victim hit with a rock during robbery

North Bay police manhunt continues As the manhunt continues for an 'armed and dangerous' man, North Bay police are advising the public to remain cautious.

A violent robbery Tuesday in North Bay has ended with charges for a 44-year-old man.

The incident took place around 10:20 on Tuesday evening at a charity organization on Cassells Street.

“While in the building, the accused demanded money from the victim,” North Bay police said in a news release Wednesday.

“When the victim refused, the accused assaulted the victim using a rock.”

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while police arrested the suspect on Chippewa Street around 10:40 p.m. and placed him under arrest.

He is charged with one count of robbery with violence and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
