A violent robbery Tuesday in North Bay has ended with charges for a 44-year-old man.
The incident took place around 10:20 on Tuesday evening at a charity organization on Cassells Street.
“While in the building, the accused demanded money from the victim,” North Bay police said in a news release Wednesday.
“When the victim refused, the accused assaulted the victim using a rock.”
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while police arrested the suspect on Chippewa Street around 10:40 p.m. and placed him under arrest.
He is charged with one count of robbery with violence and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
