Mama bear mode shown in Sudbury video

Published:

Video shows mama bear and cub in Sudbury A video from the Minnow Lake area of Greater Sudbury appears to show a mama black bear trying to prevent her cub from running into traffic.

A video captured by a Sudbury man shows a black bear appearing to steer her cub away from the traffic on a busy street and into the bush.

Chris Swain said the bears were spotted near the curling club off Howey Drive in the Minnow Lake area a little more than a week ago.

Watching the mama bear walk backwards across Wessex Street while putting herself in between the baby and danger is a sight many parents can relate to.

As the pair make it across the street, the video shows the tiny cub bound toward the wooded area and into safety.
