These Montreal streets will soon be pedestrian-only for the summer

As the summer approaches, Montreal's Village has gone pedestrian-only as the terrasses are set up along Ste. Catherine East.

If you’re driving down Sainte-Catherine East past Berri Street, you will either need to divert your course or get out and walk because The Village is now pedestrian-only.

The strip of road technically cuts off vehicle traffic as of Saturday, but crews were out this week setting up terrasses and installing seats on the street. It is the first roadway to cut off traffic to cars, as thoroughfares become promenades for a stroll, shop or sip of prosecco.

Here are the details on all the pedestrian-only promenades in the city.

The Village
