A 38-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after two men were attacked in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough early Thursday. Montreal police said the suspect was arrested Friday and taken to an investigation centre for questioning. One of the men attacked, a 70-year-old, remains hospitalized in critical condition. The second man, 45, is not in danger. Both individuals were found with upper-body injuries at 5 a.m. Thursday. The 70-year-old was found on Notre-Dame Street, while the 45-year-old man was found in a nearby residence on Rue Frédéric-Chopin.
