Free agent forward Chris Kreider signs one-year deal with Montreal Canadiens

MONTREAL — Free agent forward Chris Kreider has signed a one-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens.

The team made the announcement on Saturday but did not disclose financial details.

Kreider and the Anaheim Ducks mutually agreed to have his contract terminated on Wednesday, allowing Montreal to sign him.

Kreider only played one season in Anaheim, having been traded from the New York Rangers in June 2025.

He has 348 goals and 284 assists over 958 games played with the Rangers and the Ducks.

The 35-year-old had 22 goals and 28 assists for Anaheim last season.
