Police lift precaution after active incident investigated in Grey-Bruce region

Grey-Bruce OPP say regular patrols have resumed after what was described as an “active incident” in the Howdenvale area of South Bruce Peninsula.

At the time, the community was asked to avoid the area, and anyone who lives in the area was asked to, “follow instructions of any officers on scene.”

Police posted to social media just before 1 a.m. saying, “Initial investigation suggests that there is no threat to public safety, however, residents in the area are encouraged to stay vigilant. If you see or notice anything suspicious, please call OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.”

No other information has been provided in terms of what the investigation was about or if any charges have been laid.
