London man charged with sexual assault; police say more victims possible

Police believe there may be additional victims after a London man was charged with sexually assaulting three teenaged girls.

A London man is charged with sexual-assault related offences, and police believe there may be more victims.

An investigations began after police were notified on April 10 of alleged sexual assaults and sexual interference involving two young girls.

As part of the investigation, police said on April 8, a man used electronic communication to communicate with girls, arranged transportation to his home in the east end of the city, and provided drugs and alcohol to the victims before sexually assaulting them.

A suspect was identified and arrested on April 13.

While the investigation continued, police were able to identify a third victim, resulting in further charges being laid.

The victims reported that inappropriate sexual contact occurred and, in one instance, a young female victim said she was choked by the suspect.

Cristian Hall-Berges, 37, of London, with the following offences:

• Sexual assault;
• Sexual assault with choking;
• Sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age;
• Sexual exploitation of a young person;
• Telecommunication with a person under or believed under 16 years for specific criminal offences; and
• Telecommunication with a person under or believed under 18 years for specific criminal offences.

The accused remains in custody and is expected to re-appear in court on May 8.

Police said a photograph of the accused was released, as investigators believe there may be additional victims or people with information who have not yet contacted police.
