The London Knights mounted a third period comeback, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the efforts of one of their former players. Sam O’Reilly scored twice for the Kitchener Rangers, including the overtime winner, helping his new team to a 4-3 victory over his former club. O’Reilly was traded to Kitchener in January, along with defenseman Jared Woolley, receiving a total of 10 draft picks in return. Woolley contributed an assist, earning second star of the game honours. O’Reilly was named the game’s first star. London scored a pair of third period goals in quick succession from Brody Cook and Ryan Brown, forcing the game into overtime. It only took 45 seconds for O’Reilly to bury the winner in the extra frame though. The Knights’ next game is Friday night when they host the Niagara IceDogs.
