Bail hearing set for 1 of 4 suspects charged in Chesham Place weapons and explosives investigation

Two of the four people charged in connection with the Chesham Place weapons and explosives investigation made court appearances on Friday, both via Zoom.

Jerry Tong, 27, appeared from the Stratford Jail and his lawyer Laura Ellis set a bail hearing date for next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Fei (Frank) Han, 25, who was already denied bail appeared from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre and requested more time to obtain a new lawyer.

Last week, Zekun Wang, 26, was released from custody with strict bail conditions after a bail hearing at the London Courthouse.

His next appearance is scheduled for next month.

The only woman charged in the case, Feiyang (Astrid) Ji, 21, remains in custody and will be back in court on Thursday.

All four suspects face a rash of weapons and explosives related offences after police searched a home on Chesham Place in north London in late January following an attempted break-in at the engineering building at Western University.
