Flames damage home in Elora, Ont.

As flames tore through an Elora home, a bystander rushed inside to help two occupants.

An investigation is underway into the cause of a house fire in Elora, Ont.

Crews with Centre Wellington Fire Rescue were called to Wilson Crescent and Colborne Street around 9:15 a.m. Friday.

One side of the home had extensive damage.

Jason Benn, the fire chief of Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue, told CTV News they believed the flames started in or near the garage but, until they identified the specific source, they were considering all options.

Two people were inside the home at the time of the fire, and both were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation as a precaution. A bystander who helped the pair get out of the building was also taken to hospital.

Officials did not provide a damage estimate.
