Victoria's popular Symphony Splash classical music festival is going online during the coronavirus pandemic with a replay of the 2018 concert this year.


Oak Bay Half

Oak Bay Virtual Half Marathon

May 15th -30th 

The 2021 Oak Bay Half Marathon has gone VIRTUAL. Participants who chose to defer in 2020 can register for 2021 or defer for one more year to 2022, after which deferrals will be expired.For 2021, we have added a 5k option to the pre-existing Half-Marathon and 10k. The event typically starts at the beautiful Windsor Park in Oak Bay and winds its way through the heart of Oak Bay’s shopping district. The course then loops out and back along the scenic seaside route of Beach Drive. For the virtual edition, head out in your own community and complete your virtual challenge on your own course or follow along with one of our routes.  Complete one event, or the Triple Crown (Half Marathon, 10k & 5k) Event funds support Santa’s Anonymous. Runners may enjoy a Virtual Race and run from anywhere, anytime from May 15 to 31, 2021. Package Pickup will be held from May 15 to 31, 2021 at Frontrunners (Select Store Pick Up Location: Victoria, Shelbourne, Westshore, Nanaimo). Out-of-town runners have the option at registration to have their race kit shipped to them for a fee.


Spectacular Spring Gala

May 8th 

On May 8th, the Victoria Symphony will host a virtual Spectacular Spring Gala, built around the theme of Transformation. showcasing beautiful orchestral music, renowned celebrities sharing their personal stories of how music transformed their lives, an optional Gourmet Gala Box with wine delivered to your home, and more!

Proceeds from our Virtual Gala will benefit VS’s Youth Education & Outreach Programs as well as provide the support we need to keep our musicians working throughout the rest of the pandemic.

Co-hosted by CTV Vancouver Island’s Adam Sawatsky and the Victoria Symphony’s CEO, Matthew White, this evening is sure to be transformative!

Orcas: Our Shared Future

Dive deep into the stories and schiend that surround the magnificent orca, spirit of BC's wild coast and apex predator of all oceans. Follow the currents of ecoligical activism, popular culture and Indigenous beliefs to gain a new appreciation for these sohpisticated animals, long feared inWestern cultures as "killer whales." Discover the comples social structure of orca society and reflect on the surprising consequences of captivity.

Learn which orca populations are thriving and which are at risk, and surface with a new understanding of how orcas and humans are inextricably connected: we are all part of nature, not apart from nature.
