On Sunday, May 6, 2018, walk to support Kids Help Phone so we can help youth feel more empowered to take on life’s challenges, big and small. Young people can talk to us about any concerns they have; sometimes, we are the only place they can turn to for help. Walk to ensure Kids Help Phone is always open, and a safe space where youth can be heard without judgement. Unite with thousands of Canadians for a fun 5K walk. Hike for Hospice

Gather your family and friends and join us for the 7th Annual Hike for Hospice. Enjoy a scenic 3.5km walk, entertainment, and snacks all to raise funds and awareness for end-of-life care in your community. Participants are also invited to honour the memory of a loved one at this meaningful event.

 

Investor's Group Walk For Alzheimer's

The Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer’s is Canada’s biggest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. It’s a fun and family-friendly way to create new memories while sending a message of hope to the estimated 70,000 British Columbians living with dementia and the people who care for them. Events will take place in 23 locations across the province on May 6, 2018. Together, we make memories matter.

 

Broadmead Care Golf Tournament

Royal Colwood Golf Course

This 15th annual tournament in support of the Veterans Memorial Lodge at Broadmead, serving our WWII, Korean War and current day and allied veterans. Supporting such important projects as the Overhead Lift Campaign, purchasing of beds and mattresses and most recently the Make Room Campaign in which $356,000 needs to be raised to help replace the aging furniture and curtains in each resident’s room. We still have $100,000 left to complete our goal, and our Annual Charity Golf Tournament will take us there!

Step into a time when civilization grew along the Nile, pyramids dotted the skyline and people believed gods walked among us. With more than 300 original artifacts, some 4,500 years old, this exhibition covers all aspects of ancient Egyptian life. Be among the first in North America to see it.

 

Sidney SUP Jam 2018 National Championships

The Stand-up Paddleboard Championships is a first-time event, and an exciting opportunity for residents and visitors alike to enjoy world-class competition at Sidney’s stunning waterfront in a festival atmosphere of great music, food carts, and beer garden. Even kids can join the fun on Sunday at Glass Beach in a first-time racers 10-12 years event.

The fourth annual gala fundraiser and spectacular evening unfolds with a bubbly reception followed by six chefs serving delicious savoury, small plate meals, infused with an element of chocolate. Each chef is vying for the most votes to win the People’s Choice Best Chef trophy. The culinary portion of the evening is topped by a decadent dessert ~ chocolate of course! Guests may shop the spectacular silent auction, enjoy the company of friends and entertainment and gain an awareness of the community work by Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore. Learn how your donations make a difference in our community. An evening not to be missed! The goal of this event is to raise awareness of Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore (SIVW), and their positive impact on the community to empower, educate and transform lives of women and girls.

By accident, rather than by design – in fact, by not saying no to anything, be it a request to obtain confidential information from his company or an offer of illicit sex – he advances from a small part to the lead. Parallels are skilfully drawn between The Beggar’s Opera and the day-to-day activities of the society which is performing it.
