Hillside Centre's Night of Lights

Hillside Centre’s 18th annual Night of Lights will be held on Sunday, November 18 (6:00 – 9:30 PM). This special evening includes appetizers, entertainment, great deals, and fabulous prizes, including a $4000 travel voucher donated by Flight Centre and Hillside! Tickets available at Guest Services November 1, 2018 – $5. (Children 5 and under do not require a ticket). All proceeds from tickets sales, through Guest Services, will be donated to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation!

Tickets are $5.00 each and are sold through local non-profit organizations. 100% of the revenue from the ticket sales stay with the charities that sell the tickets. A great way to kick off the Holiday Season and support the charity of your choice!

 

Lest We Forget: Wartime at Home and Abroad

October 16 - November 30

Sidney Museum

This exhibit recognizes the military conflicts of the last century, with an emphasis on local history through artifacts, images and artwork, as a reminder of the hardships of war at home and abroad.

A feature of the exhibit is a show of artwork titled War: A Personal Response, by the national artisans of the Articulation Textile Group.

Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular

Sid Williams Theatre (Courtenay) - December 10th & 11th

Now in it's 12th season, the Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular has become a holiday tradition for many across Vancouver Island. This year's singing and dancing extravaganza includes musical tributes to Buddy Holly and Richie Valens, Nat King Cole, Michael Jackson, Edith Piaf, the Rat Pack, a collection of Disney classics, a Motown medley starring the Supremes, Bing Crosby's classic 'White Christmas' as well as many more classical hits and Christmas favourites.

Based on the critically acclaimed Lincoln Center Theater Production that was the winner of four 2015 Tony Awards including Best Revival of A Musical - Networks Presentations LLC announces that the national tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I, based on the 2015 Tony Award ®–winning Lincoln Center Theater Production, will make its Victoria premiere at The Royal Theatre for 7 shows, January 2-6, 2019 presented by BROADWAY IN VICTORIA. One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works, THE KING AND I boasts a score that features such beloved classics as “Getting To Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance” and “Something Wonderful.” Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children. BROADWAY IN VICTORIA is dedicated to bringing the best Broadway touring shows to the audiences of Victoria in the spectacular Royal Theatre. From the Sold Out run of MAMMA MIA! in 2012 and again in 2016, followed by the incredibly successful run of STOMP and the Sold Out Run of CHICAGO just last Christmas – audiences can enjoy excellent shows without having to leave Vancouver Island.
