Warning: Contains mention of suicide Hollywood actor Brad Pitt revealed that he is drinking again after seven years of sobriety. The 62-year-old Oscar winner, who starred in films such as “F1,” “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” and “Interview with the Vampire,” said in an interview with Esquire published Monday that he “got back off the wagon.” At the 2020 National Board of Review gala, Pitt disclosed that another A-list actor, Bradley Cooper, had helped him get sober. Despite drinking again, he suggested that it was in “a more restrained manner.” “You can have a glass of wine,” he told Esquire. “Yeah. Well … I can have a few. But I can’t have a lot. I have to be professional about it.” Pitt also spoke about his mental health and the death of his mother Jane last August. He said he was never suicidal until one point in his life. “The pain was so oppressive that – I wasn’t going to act on this, but I could feel – I could feel the cold steel of the bullet in my head, and it felt like relief,” he told the magazine. Pitt has experienced two high-profile marriages and divorces. He first tied the knot with “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston before they divorced in 2005 after five years of marriage. He shares six children with his second ex-wife, actor/humanitarian Angelina Jolie, whom he started dating in 2005 and married in 2014 before the pair divorced in 2016. Two of their children recently applied to legally drop his last name.
