Three days of showcasing and selling local art started Friday in St. Albert. The St. Albert Painters Guild’s annual fall show, running through Sunday at St. Albert Place, features 50 artists and more than 300 paintings for sale. “It’s quite a big production,” the guild’s Frances Pelletier told CTV News Edmonton on Friday. She said the show gives visitors a chance to experience the “vibrancy in the art and the enthusiasm of the artists.” “It is a great opportunity for people to engage with the artists and get to know a little bit about the art with the Painters Guild,” Pelletier said. “There’s a lot of different art, different styles. There’s something for everyone, and just to let you know that you know there’s so many great artists.” This year marks the St. Albert Painters Guild’s 40th anniversary. Pelletier said the guild plans to celebrate the milestone during its spring sale next year. “The show has been going for 40 years, but it has evolved,” she said. “It’s a little bit more of a production. It’s come a long way.” The sale continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and finishes Sunday 11 a.m. tol 4 p.m. With files from CTV News Edmonton’s Darcy Seaton
