More than 20 record highs were set in Alberta on Wednesday

A strong upper ridge over Alberta led to record-setting warmth across the province on Wednesday.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, about two dozen weather stations set new daily record highs. That includes Edmonton, the Edmonton airport and Stony Plain.

Athabasca area
