Man dead in south Edmonton single-vehicle crash

A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in south Edmonton.

Police say a 1991 BMW 735i was travelling westbound on 41 Avenue SW near Allard Boulevard SW around 2:40 a.m. Sunday when it lost control, striking two trees and a light before coming to a stop.

The 25-year-old male driver was declared dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the BMW.

Road conditions are not believed to be a factor, say police, but speed is.
