Edmonton’s largest summer music festival is here. The Edmonton Folk Music Festival runs from Thursday to Sunday at Gallagher Park. With no parking on site, here’s how festival-goers can get to the park. Public transit Valley Line Southeast gets you straight to Gallagher Park with the Muttart stop at the bottom and Strathearn stop at the top of the hill. Davies Station is also offering free parking with its Park & Ride service. Clareview, Belvedere and Stadium stations on the Capital line are also offering free parking and riders can transfer to the Valley Line at Churchill Station. Drop-offs There are designated drop off points on 98 Avenue, at the bottom of the hill, for taxis, rideshare services, and people dropping off family or friends. The taxi stand at the main gate is no longer there. The drop off zones for the south gate have changed due to the LRT line and construction on Connors Road. People can be dropped off on the south curb lane on 95 Avenue, between 95 Street and Connors Road, and on 95 Avenue eastbound in the parking lane east of Connors Road. Cycling There is a supervised lock-up on the festival grounds, behind the Muttart Conservatory. It’s open until 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, 12:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. You can ride a rental e-scooter or e-bike to the festival, but they are not permitted on the site, and they can’t be parked in the bike lock-up. Personal e-bikes and e-scooters can be parked there. Rental ones need to be parked at the top of Connors Hill at 95 Avenue and on the corner of 98 Avenue and 95 Street.
