Fire breaks out at multi-storey building under construction in south Edmonton

Fire broke out at a building under construction in Edmonton's Old Strathcona neighbourhood on March 19, 2026.

Fire crews were called to a blaze at an infill property on Thursday afternoon.

Flames could be seen shooting from the multi-storey structure at 108 Street and 85 Avenue when crews arrived around noon.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services says a second alarm was called in for support.

The fire was declared under control at 12:36 p.m. but was still burning at 1:52 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.
