Coronation Eco Station to close until 2027 for expansion

The Coronation Eco Station in northwest Edmonton will be closed starting March 31 as the city upgrades the facility.

Upgrades include:

• restructuring traffic flow and site layout;
• rehabilitating and expanding the existing Eco Station building with mechanical, electrical and structural upgrades;
• repurposing two existing garages to improve waste sorting;
• increasing the number of waste drop-off bins;
• installing solar photovoltaic and energy-efficient systems; and
• converting the decommissioned rail line at 143 Street and 115 Avenue into an access lane for drop-off bin service trucks.

The Eco Station is expected to reopen in spring 2027.

Residents can still drop off their waste at Ambleside, Kennedale and Strathcona Eco Stations during the closure.
