‘Beary’ important patients get check-ups west of Edmonton

Kids got the chance to learn how to nurse their stuffed toys back to full health at a special clinic west of Edmonton on Friday.

Some very special stuffed animals got clean bills of health at an event just outside Edmonton on Friday.

The Spruce Grove Public Library held a teddy bear clinic for children at its central branch location.

Kids between the age of three and 10 were invited to bring their own stuffed animal to the clinic for a check-up and a health certificate.

“We have all sorts of different stations here today. So they can get a patient form, and then they can go around and check the health of their stuffy,” librarian Sarah Goetz told CTV News Edmonton.

“They can check their blood pressure and temperature, their height, their weights. They can, of course, bandage them up and give them medicine and all sorts of fun things.”

There were also age-appropriate books about health for the children to read.

Registration for the event was required, and library officials said the program was full with a waitlist.
