2 Red Deer schools, rec centre put on hold and secure as police respond to threat report

Police are responding to reports of possible threats and have put two schools and a recreation centre in Red Deer on hold and secure.

A news release was sent out shortly before 11:40 a.m. advising the public of a heavy police presence in the area of Hunting Hills High School, Collicutt Centre and Notre Dame Secondary School.

All facilities have been put on hold and secure while RCMP investigate.

The public is asked to avoid the area and refrain from posting pictures of the police response to social media until the situation is resolved.
