Construction will close 184 Street Bridge over Yellowhead Trail on Monday for three months. The city says the closure will allow crews to rehabilitate the bridge as quickly as possible. The work includes replacing the surface asphalt and renewing the bridge deck. The ramps around it will remain open during the construction project. “While drivers will not be able to cross Yellowhead Trail using the bridge, they will continue to have access to 184 Street using the ramps,” the city said. “Traffic needing to cross Yellowhead Trail will be detoured to alternative routes, including Anthony Henday Drive, 156 Street and 170 Street.” This is the first time the bridge will be renovated since it opened in the early 2000s.
