A gradual warmup has begun across much of the western Prairies. Daytime highs will sit in the low double-digits across central and southern Alberta with Calgary forecast to reach 10 C on Tuesday. Warmer air will continue to flow in from the Pacific basin with a building ridge that will push temperatures into the low 20s by the end of the week. Conditions will be mild around Calgary over the next few days with light wind and a mix of sun and cloud. The only risk of instability will be late Wednesday and early Thursday when a low-pressure system forms along the eastern slopes of the Rockies. Overnight temperatures will mostly sit above freezing – compared to the average low of -0.6 C. Daytime highs in Calgary will range from 11 C to 20 C until the middle of next week. The normal high this time of year is 13 C.
