Cross-Canada trifecta complete: ‘Fellow in Yellow’ makes third Halifax-to-Vancouver trek

A man who spent much of his adult life living in Calgary has completed a rare cross-Canada trifecta.

Trevor Redmond, known as the “Fellow in Yellow,” has completed a run from Halifax to Vancouver.

The 54-year-old did the run to promote courage, as well as to encourage people to get healthy.

Eighteen years ago, he walked across the country.

And in 2009, he cycled it.

His latest success gives him the distinction of accomplishing three different human-powered journeys across the country.

Redmond was in our neck of the woods in September.

He said his journey is personal—that he was struck by a car at age 15, and the incident nearly cost him his leg, but multiple surgeries saved it.

He said he devoted his life to promoting wellness because of the ordeal and the health-care investment that followed.

“I want to give an example of how to exercise your minds, your bodies and your spirit,” he said.

“If you appreciate your health and appreciate the health of others, then we create a really healthy nation. And that’s what I want.”
