Calgary to see continued sunshine with midweek highs of 6 to 11 C

Calgary will see lots of sun for the rest of the week. Jodi Hughes has a look at the five-day forecast from the Sky Watch Weather Centre.

The next few days will bring more sunshine with above-seasonal temperatures.

Daytime highs in Calgary will be seven to 12 degrees warmer than average from Tuesday through Friday, with a slight cooldown starting Saturday.

Zonal flow across the west will lead to persistently stable conditions, including sunshine on Tuesday and Wednesday with some building cloud on Thursday.

A large polar air mass hovering over the territories will break through over the weekend and start to meander south, introducing cooler air into central and southern Alberta.

By the middle of next week, this pattern will lock in and daytime highs in Calgary will drop below freezing for the first time this month.

The normal high in Calgary this time of year is -1 C.

The next chance of precipitation in Calgary will be on Tuesday, with accumulations of 1 to 3 cm possible.
