2 injured in small plane crash in High River

2 people were injured Friday in a small plane crash at the High River Regional Airport. Both were in non-life threatening condition.

Emergency crews are on scene of a small plane crash in the High River area.

RCMP and EMS responded around 3:40 p.m. Friday to Foothills Regional Airport, about 65 kilometres south of Calgary.

EMS and RCMP confirmed that a plane went down with two people in it.

STARS Air Ambulance responded and transported a man in is 70s to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.

One other man got out of the wreck and was transported to hospital in non-life threatening condition.

The Transportation Safety Board was called in.

It’s unclear where the plane originated from or whether it was part of flight school, or for leisure.

The airport was shut down but expected to reopen.
