What started as a regular gathering for a group of local moms became an opportunity to make a communal impact. The Georgian Bay General Hospital says Midland’s Michelle Feir is a mom and new member of the hospital foundation. Feir and friends, mainly other moms with young children, often get together to go for stroller walks in Midland. In hopes of helping the foundation, Feir turned her regular walks into a larger opportunity, GBGH says. On Oct. 7, the moms joined forces for the first-ever We See You Strollin’ fundraiser. Through community fundraising, the moms managed to raise $1,585 and marked the occasion with a walk around Midland’s waterfront, babies in tow. “Events like We See You Strollin’ are so important because they bring our community together around a shared purpose: ensuring our community and patients at GBGH have access to the equipment and technology they need when they need it most,” says Robyn Kaczanowski, community giving officer with the GBGH Foundation. The money raised by the moms will go toward the purchase of medical equipment, such as hospital trays and other items.
