Stretch of Trans Canada Trail closed indefinitely due to flood damage

Bracebridge has closed a section of the Trans Canada Trail at Kelvin Grove Park indefinitely after flood damage and ongoing construction work on the Silver Bridge.

The town says the affected portion of the trail sustained damage to the asphalt pathway due to flooding. Access has also been impacted by continued construction related to the Silver Bridge project.

Town officials say they are coming up with a repair plan and will work with the District of Muskoka on reopening timelines.

Residents and visitors are being asked to avoid this section of the trail and obey all posted signage.

A timeline for reopening has not yet been disclosed.
