The government of Ontario says it will be investing more than $38 million into connecting more people with paramedics and ambulances in the Simcoe County area. The announcement came on Friday through the office of Barrie-Innisfil MPP Andrea Khanjin. “As Barrie–Innisfil and communities throughout Simcoe County continue to grow, this $38.4 million investment will help ensure our paramedics have the resources they need to serve our residents and provide timely, high-quality emergency care when it matters most,” Khanjin said in a statement. According to the statement, the money will go toward ambulance services and offload supports, aimed at getting ambulances and paramedics back on the road sooner after dropping patients off at emergency care centres. The investment is part of a larger $1 billion in land ambulance funding the government of Ontario is slated to provide to municipalities across the province this year.
