More Barrie GO woes: take the bus

Metrolinx says it will be shutting down service on the entire line for the whole weekend.

Track work continues on the Barrie GO line this weekend

Barrie Line rail service will be modified for major track upgrades on Saturday and Sunday.

During this time, there will be no GO train service on the Barrie line. GO buses will replace train service at all stations except for Downsview Park GO and Union Station.

Track closures are required to make improvements to support faster, more frequent GO service as part of the GO Expansion.

GO replacement buses will operate between Allandale Waterfront and Rutherford GO. They will run directly to the Hwy 407 Bus Terminal where riders can connect to TTC Line 1 to get to Union Station.

There will be no GO Transit service to or from Downsview Park GO.

Customers traveling to and from those stations are encouraged to use the TTC.

Regular service will resume on Monday, June 1.

Replacement GO buses may depart at different times than train schedules, check schedules before you travel.

Bruno Mars concerts on May 30 and May 31

There will be no GO Transit service at Downsview Park GO or Union Station. If you are travelling to or from Downsview Park GO and Union Station, please consider TTC services.

Metrolinx is advising customers to plan ahead for upcoming travel during the Bruno Mars concerts at Rogers Stadium on May 30 and May 31.

• Customers travelling northbound to Rogers Stadium from Union Station can alternatively take TTC Line 1 north to Downsview Park station.
• Customers travelling southbound to Rogers Stadium from Highway 407 Bus Terminal can alternatively take TTC Line 1 south to Downsview Park station.
• Attendees may consider parking at select TTC stations and continuing their trip by subway to Rogers Stadium.
• Commuter parking is available at some TTC stations, including Highway 407, subject to availability.
