Attempted break-in goes wrong in north-end Barrie

Police were called to a reported break-and-enter at a residence in Barrie’s north end.

Police say a man forcibly entered the home on Cassandra Drive while the occupants were inside.

The person immediately fled the house through the back door.

The people were startled, but unharmed.

A K9 tracking dog was used in the search but was unsuccessful in locating the person.

The investigation remains ongoing.
