‘Unique form of advertising’: Giant sticky notes plastered across Halifax in new campaign

Giant sticky notes encourage Haligonians to live their best lives in 2026.

If you’ve walked around Halifax recently you may have seen some hard-to-miss sticky notes.

A total of 12 giant sticky notes have been plastered on buildings and walls across the city.

The notes are part of Agency Art Lofts’ newest campaign. The campaign hopes to attract future tenants using Post-it notes with common new year’s resolutions written on it.

“So, things like “get in shape” or “be more social”, or “start a new podcast,” says Amanda MacDonald, the general manager for Sidewalk Real Estate Development. “We want to just inspire people as they’re thinking about new, exciting changes this year. Maybe that involves a new apartment.”

“I think it’s a unique form of advertising, that’s for sure,” says Jacob Godwin, a Halifax resident.

Godwin says it’s a good reminder that the new year is well underway.

“I’m still making the mistake that it’s 2025 right now, so I haven’t adjusted myself. I do think it’s on the forefront of everybody’s mind,” he says.

The campaign was only meant to run for seven days, though MacDonald says mother nature hasn’t been helpful.

“The sticky notes were faced with some wind and wet weather and snow, which we anticipated. It’s January in Halifax, but we certainly hope that your New Year’s resolutions are lasting longer than seven days,” says MacDonald.
