Kings County, N.S., barn fire causes $1M in damages

A fire flattened a barn in West Hants, N.S.

A barn in Nova Scotia’s Kings County has been flattened following a weekend fire.

The blaze started early Sunday evening on Rand Street in Hants Border.

The barn housed farm vehicles and machinery.

Officials estimate the fire caused more than $1 million in damages.

Firefighters were assessed by paramedics at the scene. One was taken to hospital and later released.

There were no other injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
