An event in Halifax this weekend will give women the chance to connect with each other and tell their stories. Presented by The Girl on the Left, Next Chapter: Halifax will bring together women with speakers and authors to share inspiring stories around women’s health, life and business. “It’s just really meant to be a place for them to be able to take the next step with their story past the page to the stage and do it in a way that can get the community involved, get people out, interested in growth and self-development, and actually come out on a Sunday, meet some ladies, get inspired and hopefully leave with some motivation to do something different in whatever all of our next chapters are,” said the creator of The Girl on the Left, Megan Dirks, in an interview with CTV Your Morning’s Crystal Garret. The Girl on the Left is an anthology and storytelling platform featuring essays from women about several topics surrounding womanhood and personal growth. While it began as a book, it grew into a podcast where women share their transformations and life stories. “They’re meant to be curated, we curate every volume with all these ladies, and I have a background in coaching as well, so we try to funnel them into key pillars of life, so it’s either health, career, finance, greater good, or humanitarian impact, and love and relationships. Every story falls under one of those at least,” Dirks said. Next Chapter: Halifax will take place on Sunday, with tickets available online.
