Alley fire damages two buildings in Kentville, N.S.

A fire that started in an alley damaged two buildings in Kentville, N.S., Tuesday night.

Ian Fairclough, deputy chief with the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, said crews responded to the fire between the two buildings on Webster Court around 10:15 p.m.

No one was in the buildings at the time.

Fairclough said an office space for a solar company suffered heavy damage after the fire went up the walls and onto the roof. A provincial government office suffered minor damage.

There were no reported injuries.

Fairclough, who noted they’ve responded to six structure fires in the past month, said the cause of Tuesday’s fire is under investigation.
