St. Stephen woman arrested after police seize drugs, firearm: N.B. RCMP

A St. Stephen, N.B., woman has been arrested after police seized drugs and a firearm in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in the community.

RCMP officers executed a search warrant at a residence of Princess Street around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

“As a result of the search, police seized quantities of what are believed to be fentanyl, crystal meth, crack-cocaine, an undisclosed amount of cash, drug paraphernalia, a cell phone and an unsecured long gun. The owner of the firearm did not have a Possession and Acquisition Licence,” reads a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested and released on conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 26.

“This investigation has resulted in harmful drugs being taken off the streets of St. Stephen and surrounding areas,” says Sgt. Pierre Ladouceur of the St. Stephen RCMP in the release. “These results reflect the dedication and diligence of our frontline officers, whose continued efforts are essential in keeping our communities safe.”

The RCMP is asking anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
