A single-family home in Winnipeg’s River East neighbourhood went up in flames Saturday evening.
Firefighters were called to the home on Hathway Road near Rothesay Street just after 7:45 p.m.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters were able to fight the blaze from inside the home and declared the fire under control about half an hour later.
In a Sunday news release, the city said all occupants got out safely before crews arrived and no injuries were reported.
The city’s emergency social services team was dispatched to help residents with temporary support.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
