Attempt to pin woman between car and building results in arrest: Brandon Police

A Manitoba woman is facing several charges following an altercation on Saturday where she allegedly attempted to pin another woman against a building using a stolen car.

According to the Brandon Police Service, the suspect stole a car from her friend and used it to try to pin another woman against a building. Police added that the suspect also attempted to assault the woman with a knife.

The incident continued around 8 a.m. on Saturday, when officers learned of a car being driven the wrong way on Brandon’s Rosser Avenue. Police found the car in the 400 block of 12th Street, where they arrested the 24-year-old suspect.

Following the arrest, the suspect provided police with breath samples, which were over the legal limit.

The suspect was taken into custody. She is facing several charges including theft of a motor vehicle, driving while ability impaired and two counts of assault with a weapon.

A 23-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was arrested for failure to comply with a release order for having consumed alcohol.
