You’re invited: ENWIN Earth Day tree planting

ENWIN and the Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) are inviting the public out to come help with the annual ENWIN Earth Day tree planting celebration.

It will take place on April 26 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on the Ganatchio Trail near Wyandotte and Florence.

“ERCA has hosted an annual tree planting in the City of Windsor since 1999,” said Danielle Breault Stuebing, ERCA’s director of communications.

“Over the past 27 years, nearly 40,000 trees have been planted in the City of Windsor as a result of this event. We are so grateful to ENWIN, which has supported this event for many years and has now made a three-year commitment as its title sponsor to ensure the Windsor-Essex community can continue to plant trees for years to come.”

More than 2,100 will be planted during the event. You are encouraged to bring your own shovel if possible.

Parking is available at the Riverside Kiwanis Park/Pump Track parking lot, McHugh Park parking lot, and other public lots along Riverside Drive East.

If you have a group of 10 or more, you are encouraged to sign up as a Green Team to get a certificate of participation. Sign up is available until April 19.
