For some in the community - Family Day was about helping families in need.
Hundreds of residents spent the holiday packing nearly 1400 bags of donated food. Those care packages will be distributed to families in need in our community.
It’s the sixth year that PLP Financial Services, Sobeys (St. Clair Beach) on Amy Croft Drive and partners have contributed to the event. The donations directly benefit the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society.
Area residents and businesses donated over $21,000 in non-perishable goods including Lend City, Rafih Auto Group, Sobeys, Signature Group Realty, Borrelli Gourmet Foods. In addition, the Windsor Express basketball team were on hand to help with packaging bags.
Pual Lue Pann is the owner of PLP Financial Services and the organizer of the campaign along with his wife Nina. They are elated to have the support of residents and area businesses for the cause.
“I just want to thank everybody for making today possible”, said Lue Pann.
“We have we’re going to be raising 1387 bags. We’ve together raised over $21,000 to help local families in our community. So, it’s families helping families.”
